Will the handles hit your sprayer?,

The Moen Caldwell kitchen faucet is an average quality kitchen faucet. High quality kitchen faucet sets have metal sprayers. The sprayer with this faucet is mostly plastic. It does have a very metallic looking finish. Very high quality faucets have long pipe extensions below the faucet so the water supply lines can be connected to them without having to reach up behind the sink. This set has short pipe extensions, so it's best to connect flexible water supply lines to it before you fasten the base of the faucet onto the sink.
On some sinks, the hole for the sprayer is so close to the faucet that the handle of a faucet will hit the head of the sprayer. On mine, this gentle tapping of two against each other eventually broke the "sprayer hose guide", which is the receptacle that holds the sprayer when aren't using it. The sprayer hose guide with this faucet is also plastic. Based on my sink, I estimate that you will need at least 8 inches between the center of the spigot...Read more

At some point, there have been a few design changes to this model. I did receive the Moen 87888SL. As posted in Stephen's review, the entire faucet structure is metal and the sprayer nozzle and hose guide are both plastic. However, they have apparently made a modification to the hose guide so that the nozzle sits higher. If the nozzle head is turned toward the faucet, the cold water handle actually turns slightly under the sprayer nozzle. They do not touch, which will hopefully solve the broken hose guide issue that Stephen had.
I also noted that the instructions did not match the faucet exactly. The instructions I got with the faucet indicated that there should be a flat gasket that you put between the faucet base and the sink, however no such gasket was in the kit. There was a foam rubber-type seal attached to the bottom of the faucet base. A quick call to Moen confirmed that this seal replaced the gasket and they apologized for the outdated instructions. The...Read more
